HIT signed a contract with the Department of Environment of the Cyprus Ministry of Agriculture for the provision of technical consultancy services. The Department intends to have a new information system developed within the next few years in order to support its daily activities and, in this direction, HIT was awarded the technical consultancy contract to prepare the system specifications.
In particular, HIT will investigate the current state of the Department’s internal operations, including its utilized software, working processes and interactions with external agencies. Based on this assessment, the Department’s operational needs will be extracted and its processes will be re-engineered for efficiency purposes. Additionally, different alternatives will be analyzed for the system’s projected implementation in technical and financial terms, while the optimal solution will be suggested for the development phase.
Given this proposed solution, HIT will prepare the technical and functional specifications for the system’s implementation, and define the user requirements and needs which have to be satisfied.
It is expected that through this new information system, the Department of Environment’s staff will highly benefit at their operations, while the Department’s management will have a better visibility of all ongoing activities or pending issues. Additionally, companies and citizens daily interacting with the Department shall efficiently process requests and easily overview their status
